Minneapolis-based metal band A Moment Without began formation in the spring of 2008 by guitarist James Sanders. Focused strongly on musicianship and songwriting, James brought in good friend and former band mate Trent Laugerman on drums to form the initial core of the band. After months of auditions for the other guitar spot, Nick Foreman was added to the mix and the three continued to write music. Throughout the summer of 2008 the bass and vocal spots were filled by Alej Garcia and Aaron Dahl, Aaron later that fall being replaced by Chris Davin. While recording their debut EP at Winterland Studios that winter, a regional independent record label had shown interest in the band. In December of 2009, AMW released “A Place to Call Home” on Zero Budget Records. Parting ways with Alej Garcia mid 2010, Chris Lyons was brought in on bass to make the band what it is today.

Over the past 2 years A Moment Without has made a name for themselves in the twin cities music scene, being known for their tasteful and digestible take on metal music. Taking aim at building a strong live show, AMW has shared the stage with national touring acts such as Times of Grace, Seasons After, Bobaflex, Downstait, Animals as Leaders, Darkest Hour, War of Ages, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Across the Sun, Affiance, Straight Line Stitch, No Bragging Rights, Silent Civilian, Epicurean and more.

A Moment Without is currently in the recording process for their follow-up EP with a tentative release date in late summer of 2011, with tour plans in the works for soon after.
